Ouvrage enrichi de Figures & de nouvelles Cartes Géographiques de la Chine ancienne & moderne, levées par ordre du feu Empereur KANG-HI, & gravées pour la première fois. / trans. of a Manchu version of Zhu Xi's 朱熹 (1130-1200) Zizhi tongjian gangmu 資治通鑑綱目 and other works, by Joseph-Anne-Marie de Moyriac de Mailla 馮秉正 (1669-1748), ed. by Jean-Baptiste Grosier (1743-1823) and Michel-Ange-André Le Roux Deshauterayes (1724-1795). Mailla's Manchu source was Han-i araha tunggiyan g'angmu bithe, compiled on Kangxi's order in 1691. Han-i araha tunggiyan g'angmu bithe was based on Zhu Xi's text supplemented by Nan Xuan's 南軒 Zizhi tongjian gangmu qianbian 資治通鑑綱目前編 from 1595 and Shang Lu's 商輅 (1414-1486) Song Yuan tongjian gangmu 宋元通鑒綱目 (also known as Xu Zizhi tongjian gangmu 續資治通鑑綱目) from after 1476. Mailla used the Manchu text in conjunction with the Chinese originals and other Chinese historiographical works. For a comprehensive discussion, see: Vol. 13 contains a Description générale de la Chine edited by Grosier on the basis of missionary writings that postdate Mailla. A digitized copy of the book is available from the Bibliothèque numérique de Lyon Library set lacking vol. 11. |
