In diesem Institut sind nach dem Willen seines Gründers, Matteo Ripa (1682—1745), der sich als Weltpriester der Propaganda-Kongregation für die Mission in China zur Verfügung gestellt hatte, einhundertfünfzig Jahre lang chinesische Alumnen auf den Priesterberuf vorbereitet worden, um nach Vollendung der Studien in ihrer Heimat im Dienst an der Evangelisierung tätig zu werden."--Publisher.
