As a quantitative psychologist, I study psychology through the lens of mathematics and statistics, investigating the properties of different modeling approaches under a variety of circumstances (e.g., how well does a model perform when one of the underlying statistical assumptions is not met?). As part of my work to develop new research methods, I recently tested two different models that attempted to measure connections among symptom status, functional health, and quality of life in HIV patients over time.
