Rock around the clock

Published: April 2004

From 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2004, to noon the following day, Boston College’s second annual Dance Marathon filled the basketball courts of the Flynn Recreation Complex with hundreds of BC students and visitors and a loud, non-stop beat. The goal of the marathon was to raise funds for Children’s Hospital Boston. Dancers solicited pledges for their efforts to move to the music for 18 hours straight.

Recorded in this @BC slideshow are 14 of the 64,800 seconds that passed between the kickoff and the countdown: moments of energy, encouragement, exhaustion, and celebration.
