Twenty-five years after graduating from BC with a degree in English and experience as the general manager of campus radio station WZBC, Herb Scannell is MTV Networks group president of Nickelodeon, the top-rated cable network for kids. He also oversees Nick at Nite and TV Land, paeans to classic TV; Noggin, the first all-educational channel for kids; and Spike TV, the first network for men. This March, he received an award from Amnesty International for promoting, through Nickelodeon, “activism, tolerance, and social responsibility.” Below, links that provide a look inside Herb Scannell’s world.
