About the speaker

A perinatal clinical nurse specialist and an expert on safe care for mothers and babies, Kathleen R. Simpson, Ph.D., RNC, CNS-BC, FAAN, has conducted research and written peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters on topics such as fetal well-being during labor, uterine activity during labor, and labor induction, as well as interdisciplinary communication and nurse staffing. She is editor in chief of MCN: The American Journal of Maternal Child Nursing, editor of AWHONN’s Perinatal Nursing (Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2013), and chair of the March of Dimes National Advisory Committee.
