Maureen McCausland, DNSc, RN, FAAN, will offer an overview of how large health care systems balance attention to patients with a continuously evolving business landscape. She will also talk about what nurses, especially those who care for patients, can do to usher in a new era of health care.

A hospital and nursing executive for more than 30 years, McCausland is the senior nursing administrator at MedStar Health, the largest health care provider in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. region. She is responsible for system-wide oversight and leadership of professional nursing practice, nursing education, and research.
