Michael Peters

LIZ FAY CORCORAN: In my sophomore year I switched from Arts & Sciences to the School of Management, where Michael Peters was chair of the Marketing Department. Michael was very pragmatic in his lecture style and approach to projects. He used his own theories in class, and gave practical examples from his experiences. He was understanding, flexible, and passionate about the subject of marketing. He was also accessible. Lots of teachers weren’t. He always had time for you. His tests were very challenging and kept me on my toes. The marketing project my best friend and I did for Eastman Kodak was so successful that we both got hired after graduation. I had the pleasure of staying in touch with Michael for many years. We would see each other on Cape Cod and catch up. He is wonderful and unusual man—a very successful professional who loves what he does and has kept the human touch. He continues to be an inspiration to me.
