My research focuses on emerging forms of legal authority. I study this phenomenon at supranational and international levels, and investigate its effects on the structure and jurisprudential repertoire of domestic legal systems. A significant part of my research focuses on European constitutionalism, more specifically on the structure of authority in a polity with multiple and competing centers of power. I investigate the cosmopolitan potential of the European model as well as of models of comparative constitutional law that have recently captured the interest of legal scholars. I am also interested in the relations between authority and constitutionalism, legal norms, and methods of legal reasoning.
