My research focuses on efficient and robust methods for object detection, tracking, and action detection in cluttered images or videos. The goal is to apply these methods to computer vision in machine inspection, sports, human-computer interaction, and other multimedia systems. For example, in a project called "MyView," supported by Bell Canada, I helped develop a multiple-camera prototype for sports broadcasting that tracks multiple objects in real time and automatically generates a best-view video for a user-selected object.
Research in computer vision will not only reveal the mystery of human vision, but also guide us in building useful intelligent machines and systems.
