Repertoire

Published: November 2005

At the University Wind Ensemble’s inaugural concert on October 21 in Robsham Theater, the group performed 11 pieces written for wind and percussion instruments, from a 1597 sonata by Giovanni Gabrelli to the New England premiere of a 2004 work, “Hysteria in Salem Village,” by Felicia Sandler.

Forty-four musicians were accepted for the program, which offers performers private lessons as part of their year-long commitment. The ensemble was created by Director of Bands Sebastian Bonaiuto and joins the Symphonic Band, BC bOp!, and the Screaming Eagles Marching Band in the BC Bands Program, which presents more than 75 concerts annually.
