Praised in the New Yorker magazine for the “ethereal and earthy timbres” of its recordings of Renaissance music, the Blue Heron vocal ensemble is Boston College’s 2010–11 Artist in Residence, presenting two concerts in St. Mary’s Chapel as well as opening rehearsals to the University community. The group’s director, Scott Metcalfe, has been a guest lecturer in a pair of undergraduate courses—”Music of the Renaissance” and “Masterworks of Choral Music.” On February 15, he held a workshop, his second, with the student-led Madrigal Singers of Boston College, captured on video by @BC.
