One current and three former Boston College students are in Beijing to compete in the Summer Olympic Games or the Paralympic Games. Pictured at right (clockwise from top left) are Charlie Davies, Carrie Howe ’03, Jarrod Shoemaker, and Paul Moran ’90. For information on each athlete, click on the links below.

Charlie Davies is one of four forwards on the U.S. soccer team. He was a member of the Boston College soccer team from 2004–06, and in 2006 he won All-American honors and was ACC Offensive Player of the Year.

All-American and former captain of the Boston College Sailing Team Carrie Howe ’03 is a member of the three-woman sailing team representing the U.S.

Paul Moran ’90 was introduced to wheelchair tennis in 1992 and is a championship competitor in both wheelchair softball and tennis.

Triathlon athlete Jarrod Shoemaker is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the Lynch School.
