On April 25, Holocaust Remembrance Day, fine arts faculty members (from left) Khalid Kodi, Claude Cernuschi, and John Michalczyk speak with CBS4 News anchor Liz Walker, who produced an independent documentary on Sudan, at “Never Again? From Auschwitz to Darfur: A Commemoration of the Nazi Genocide Through a Current Prism,” in Devlin Hall 101. Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom HaShoah in Hebrew, also marks the anniversary of the Warsaw ghetto uprising of 1943. Members of Boston College Hillel conducted a candle-lighting ceremony, cellist John Letizi ’09 performed, and Kodi, Michalczyk, and Walker gave presentations. The event was sponsored by the Fine Arts Department; the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning; the Jewish Studies Program; BC Hillel; the Faith, Peace, and Justice Program; and the Jacques Salmanowitz Program for Moral Courage in Film.
