Ursula Rodriguez, Patricia Rodriguez, and Vivian Carrasco

On March 18 in the Cabaret Room in Vanderslice Hall (from left), juniors Ursula Rodriguez, Patricia Rodriguez (not related), and Vivian Carrasco wait to hear their names called in the drawing for four-person apartments and suites. The soon-to-be seniors eventually wound up with a suite in Edmond’s Hall, to their satisfaction. While freshmen are assigned housing before they arrive, sophomores, juniors, and seniors who want to live on campus must participate in the room selection process, known among students as the “housing lottery.” The top housing choice for seniors is usually a six-person apartment in the Mods, a set of townhouses with backyards on the Lower Campus; while sophomores and juniors covet eight-person suites in the newest residence hall at 110 St. Thomas More Road.
