The long goodbye

In the early morning of May 23, prior to the University’s 129th Commencement exercises, the Class of 2005 gathered in front of Gasson Hall to prepare for its final walk through campus as students, a processional that inaugurated a Boston College Commencement tradition. Soon-to-be graduates filed past academic buildings on Middle Campus, through Lower Campus, and into Alumni Stadium, where thousands of parents, friends, faculty, and administrators waited to welcome them to the Commencement ceremonies.
