On January 5, a winter storm blanketed the Heights and most of New England with a light mix of snow and slush. When a storm hits, contractors begin to plow campus roadways overnight and dump the snow into 18-wheel trucks to haul it away. A forty-two-person crew from Boston College’s facilities and custodial offices arrived on campus around 6:00 a.m. to clear streets and parking areas, and shovel doorways and stairs–including the 120-step stairs by Higgins Hall.
