On January 25 at 5 p.m. on O’Neill Plaza, more than 500 members of the Boston College community gathered for a vigil to remember the victims of the December tsunami in South Asia. As dusk fell on the snowy campus, students lit small white candles, The Acoustics and the Liturgy Arts Group performed, and event organizers from Campus Ministry and the Undergraduate Government of Boston College offered remarks. The $3,000 raised at the event will be donated to tsunami relief agencies. Earlier this month, University President William P. Leahy, SJ, issued a letter about the disaster to the BC community.
