During the summers of 2008 and 2009, a group of Boston College students conducted an inventory of the trees on the Chestnut Hill and Brighton campuses as part of the University’s effort to determine its overall carbon footprint. Although the census is not complete (one-third of the Brighton Campus remains uncharted; none of the Newton Campus has been tackled), the students catalogued and measured 4,615 trees, amassing data that Kevin Keegan ’10 rendered in an interactive map.
