Wow! This reminds those of us who were alive during President Kennedy’s time in office, what a breath of fresh air he was, especially as we emerged from the complacency and mindlessness of the 1950’s. He really was an inspiration to not only the young but also to those of his own generation and, I dare say, the elderly as well.
Despite the failings of his administration (although he was at his finest in standing up to the the Soviets during the Cuban Missile Crises),
he will be warmly remembered for the optimism, hope and sense of duty instilled in the young. It was his personal charisma that made all those things seem attainable. He was a natural leader and the vision he articulated was worthy of our attention. There was greatness in that…
My wife, Kathy and I were in attendance at this event. It was a remarkable day for this newly married couple. There was electricity on our campus and it was great to be a part of the festivities. RIP Mr. President
