Every spring the University Council on Teaching, composed of professors appointed from each school, awards at least 10 Teaching, Advising, and Mentoring (TAM) grants, worth up to $15,000. Applicants—who must be full-time faculty—are invited to submit “creative and innovative proposals . . . that go beyond the normal preparation of course development.” Interdisciplinary projects are encouraged, as are designs for fresh core curriculum offerings. It is required that the work begin in the summer.
Fifteen TAM grants were distributed this year. @BC spoke with some of the recipients about their plans.
