To the recorded fanfare of “Bugler’s Dream” (the popular Olympic broadcast music), the Boston College members of the U.S. women’s Olympic hockey team returned to Kelley Rink on March 1, six days after the close of the 2014 Winter games in Sochi, Russia. The three silver medalists were introduced during a media timeout in a men’s game against Notre Dame: forward Alex Carpenter ’16, who scored four goals and had an assist in five Olympic contests; goalie Molly Schaus ’11, who shut out Switzerland; and forward Kelli Stack ’11, who scored a goal and had four assists. The trio signed autographs and posed for photos with fans in the Power Gym. Another Sochi Olympian, Team USA men’s hockey defenseman Brooks Orpik ’02, was playing a game that night with the Pittsburgh Penguins in Chicago.

Jon Rish ’94 and Andy Powers ’99 were covering the BC-Notre Dame game for Boston radio station WEEI and provided commentary.
