Headmasters

Published: May 2011

The Lynch Leadership Academy was founded in 2010 with a mission to expand the executive skills of principals in Boston elementary and secondary schools—parochial and public (district, as well as charter). Part of the Lynch School of Education (LSOE), the academy awards 25 fellowships annually, providing a year-long program that includes weekly sessions with leadership coaches, monthly workshops, and a two-week summer institute on the Brighton Campus. Among the subjects addressed are fiscal management, organizational systems, technology, ethics, social work, and law. In addition to LSOE, participants in the program include the Carroll School of Management, the Winston Center for Leadership and Ethics, the Connell School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Social Work, and Boston College Law School. A $20 million gift from Carolyn and Peter Lynch ’65 supports the academy.
