As part of Boston College Magazine‘s Master Class: Alumni in Residence series, fashion journalist Clinton Kelly ’91, the cohost of the TLC reality series What Not to Wear, spoke to a capacity crowd of some 300 people in McGuinn 121 on February 21. In a conversation moderated by Boston College Magazine editor Ben Birnbaum, Kelly told stories about his days on the Heights and gave career advice to students interested in working in publishing, journalism, and television. Before joining What Not to Wear, Kelly, a communication major at Boston College, was executive editor at DNR, a menswear magazine; deputy editor of Mademoiselle, where he penned an advice column under the pseudonym Joe L’Amour; and a contributing editor at Marie Claire. He is the coauthor of Dress Your Best: The Complete Guide to Finding the Style That’s Right for Your Body (Three Rivers Press, 2005).
