The “punk/alt” band “Montview” was one of four entries in the UGBC-sponsored Battle of the Bands at the Rat, in Lyons Hall, on February 7. Two hundred audience members filled out ballots at the end of the evening, choosing as winner “The Andrew Furth Project,” a group with an “upbeat jam-band” sound, in the words of Heights reviewer Shannon Grady. Besides a $400 prize, last week’s winner will compete on April 26 at the annual Boston College Arts Festival against Icy Hott, the winning band at last semester’s installment of Battle of the Bands. The grand champion will open at ModStock, an annual senior festival celebrating the last day of classes.
