A month-long celebration of Hispanic heritage that included films, art exhibits, lectures, and panel discussions concluded October 16th with nearly 12 hours of music, dance, and spoken word performances in Gasson Hall. The first annual Latin Soul Arts Festival was organized by Eduardo Dorado ’11, Bryan Leyva ’10, and the Office of AHANA Student Programs.

The BC bOp! jazz ensemble performed "Sabrosura: The Flavors and Rhythms of Latin Music," a medley that included a Latin treatment of the classic Duke Ellington composition "It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing" and Paul Simon’s "Me and Julio down by the schoolyard."<br/>Photograph: Christopher Huang
