The Class of 1960, represented by nearly 50 of its members, welcomed the Class of 2010 into the Boston College Alumni Association at a ceremony on the Bapst Library lawn May 20. More than 1,500 seniors attended the event, where they received commemorative champagne flutes, Boston College pins, and a greeting from Vincent Quealy ’75, vice president of the alumni board of directors.

Following a champagne toast to their four years at Boston College and impending alumni status (four days off), Fr. Michael Himes spoke to the class, whom he had addressed during orientation four years earlier and who had chosen him to address this gathering. He urged them to “preserve and prolong the conversation you have begun,” and he reminded them, “here on the Heights there will always be people who cheer at the mention of your name.”
