"The first Chinese Christian to come to Europe seems to have been Zheng Weixin 鄭維信 (1633-1673, a native of Macao), also called Manuel de Siqueira (Sequeira). He accompanied Alexandre de Rhodes (1593-1660). They departed from Macao in 1645 and in 1649 arrived in Rome, where Zheng entered the Jesuit Order in 1651.
