From Thomas Salmon’s The Universal Traveller.

"The top half of the sheet features a chart of the Bay of Chin-Chew or Chang-Chew in China. The map includes the province of Fokyen, and covers the area fro Pu-tay Point to the Chin-chew River. Below is a bird’s eye view of the Temple of Pau Lin Shi, near Nanjing, which is based upon the work of John Nieuhof from the 17th century. Nieuhof’s views are regarded as some of the most reliable early depictions of China."--Sanders of Oxford note [35740]
